Frequently Asked questions

Can I put very hot water in a Watercell for use as a hot water bottle?

No. There are safety concerns, as the materials of the cap and fill port threads may expand at different rates. Very hot water could cause seepage onto the sleeper.

How do I clean a Watercell?

Wash with warm water and dish soap, rinse thoroughly, and hang upside down to dry completely. Do not use boiling water. To remove juice or wine residue, use effervescent peroxide tablets.

Can I freeze water in a Watercell for use in a cooler?

Yes. You can freeze water in a Watercell X, but leave space for expansion as water turns to ice. The welds, laminates, and cap will not be damaged by cold temperatures.

What is the size of the Watercell cap spigot thread?

The internal spigot or showerhead connection thread on a Watercell X is 1/4 in NPT. CPC manufactures a 1/4 in NPT to quick-connect fitting.
