Technical Features

Non-PFAS
Sea to Summit Dry Bags, Stuff Sacks and Compression Bags use a non-PFAS Durable Water Repellent finish to help shed water. Big River bags use a non-PFAS PU coating.

EVAC Fabric
EVAC fabric is an electro-spun, non woven membrane used in the laminate of Sea to Summit Evac Dry Storage products
- Evac Compression Dry Bags UL, Evac Compression Dry Bags LW, Evac Dry Bags LW. This laminate utilizes a 70 Denier nylon face fabric with a non-PFAS DWR finish
- Evac Compression Dry Bags HD. This laminate utilizes a 500 Denier Cordura nylon face fabric with a non-PFAS DWR finish.
In both cases, the laminate allows air to be pushed out of the dry bag/compression dry bag but prevents water from entering. This means you can compress the air out of a dry bag without needing a purge valve. (A purge valve adds weight and complexity, and may fail of accidentally be left in the 'open' position)
- Evac technology is simple, reliable and foolproof

30D ULTRA-SIL
An incredibly lightweight yet durable fabric used in a large number of Sea to Summit products. This 30 denier Nylon is made with CORDURA® yarns for strength, woven into a ripstop pattern. Two versions of the fabric are used:
- Water-resistant products (such as the Ultra-Sil Stuff Sacks) are siliconized on both sides for ultimate packability
- Waterproof products (such as the UltraSil Dry Sack are) siliconized on the outside and PU-coated on the inside to allow seam taping.
- Both versions have a hydrostatic head greater than 2000mm – which makes them more than adequately waterproof for the types of environments they are intended for.
Frequently Asked questions
Is this dry bag waterproof?
The body of the dry bag is waterproof (10,000 mm hydrostatic head). However, avoid submersion since water can seep through the roll-top closure of any dry bag.
Is this dry bag suitable for paddle sports?
Absolutely. The tough nylon material on this dry bag is perfect for water sports. Just be cautious around sharp objects or abrasive surfaces.
Does this bag work for modular packing in a backpack?
Yes! Use these bags for all compressible items. First, squeeze the air out, then pack the dry bag into a tight space so it doesn't draw air back in. It works wonders on sleeping bags and insulated clothing.
