LUCY'S JOURNEY

As March rolls in, we are celebrating Women's History Month and International Women’s Day, and the contribution of women in the outdoors and contemporary society.

As a trailblazing adventurer we asked Lucy to share a little bit about her journey, the best advice she’s been given and the lessons she’s learnt along the way to help inspire others.

In one of the most remote places on Earth, Lucy was inexperienced and unsure if she had any business doing what she was doing. She reached breaking point when she was hit with public backlash, but when she realised that many entry points in the adventure world were closed to women, that reignited her determination.

“There is no right way. I carry with me the understanding that I am the one forging the path. My experiences and my journey are uniquely mine, and mine to own. And this is possibly the hardest lesion I’ve learned. Own your Journey.”

Meet Wombat

Lucy's companion, Wombat is a Blue Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) who started walking with her at 3 months of age. True to the breed, he is high energy, adventurous and cheeky. Sometimes stubborn, sometimes fierce, he is a quick learner, loves oranges, anything that squeaks, branches 5 times his length, and sneaking into Lucy's sleeping bag when she's not looking.
