Steve Crombie

Steve Crombie, has adventured over 150,000kms by land and sea in his short lifetime. During completion of his MBA he realized that his true passion was exploring the world on a motorcycle. He recently returned from a 90,000km journey travelling from the Australia to the Arctic by land and sea – www.loston.com

Today he works as a filmmaker, writer, speaker and consultant. Creating documentaries with Lonely Planet; writing books for Pan MacMillan and working as an ambassador for the Inspire foundation.

Early this year he completed an 8000km off-road adventure along the Great Dividing Range for Discovery Channel and Channel Ten. The journey will be featured as a four-part Lonely Planet production featuring the Natural Born Traveller himself later this year.

After seven years chasing a dream it has now become a sustainable reality. Steve is one of few people in the world with "Adventurer" as his full time working title. It’s even on his business card.

Being a full time adventurer he is very weight conscious. If he can’t carry it he won’t take it - He uses the Jetboil Personal Cooking System as his stove of choice & a Black Diamond Lighthouse tent.

In South America Steve caught plenty of stomach bugs like giardia and dysentery - however with the use of Steripen & Ipood on his next trip this should be all sorted. Now he carries them everywhere!
